Flower Friday – Ipomoea

“heavenly blue”

Description~ This fast-growing and twining flower is a variation of a morning glory. It is summer-flowering and great as a part of a summer border or thrown about other plants. This large blue, funnel-shaped flower has a white center and can appear in clusters of two or three.

Cultivation~ This heavenly blue flower desires well-drained, moderately fertile soil. It would prefer a location that is in the sun and sheltered from cold, drying winds.

Thoughts~ Oh my god morning glories! These flowers are so cute! I love the blue! They would look really nice planted with some Magnolia Grandiflora and Philadelphus belle toilets. I’ve forgotten how much I like the color blue and this flower definitely rekindled my love of blue.
