Christmas Cookie Balls


These are still considered cookies right? Well, I still consider them cookies. They’re very easy to make and they’re all no-bake cookies so they’re also very quick to make. My mom wrote these all down in Bosnian too, but they’re a lot easier to translate so I’m going to put the recipes below.

  1. Orange Balls
    • 1 container of dark chocolate frosting
    • 2 3/4 cups of powdered sugar
    • 2 teaspoons (or however much you want!) of orange extract
    • 1 1/2 cups of rice cereal
    • 2 cups of coconut
      • Instructions : Mix the frosting, powdered sugar, orange extract, and rice cereal together. Add any extra amount of the listed ingredients if the mixture isn’t coming together properly. Place the coconut in a bowl in which you can roll the balls in. Make whatever size balls you like the best, roll them in the coconut, and let them sit in the fridge for a bit to firm up. Then place them in a cookie box or enjoy them right away!
  2. Peanut Butter Balls (My mom has written the name Nancy next to this recipe, so I’m going to assume she got it from a nice lady names Nancy. Thanks Nancy!)
    • 1 jar of peanut butter
    • 1 stick of butter
    • powdered sugar
    • melted chocolate (Whatever type of chocolate you prefer!)
      • Instructions : Melt the butter in the microwave. Combine the peanut butter, melted butter, and powdered sugar together. Add powdered sugar until the mixture stays together, so the powdered sugar is kind of acting as your flour. Form the mixture into balls and put them in the fridge to firm up. After about 30 minutes you can take the peanut butter balls out of the fridge, melt the chocolate, and then roll the balls into the chocolate. Let the balls harden again and then eat as many as you can!
  3. Hershey Kisses Balls (While the name pretty much says that you put a Hershey kiss on top, we never do but you’re more than welcome to do so if you would like to!)
    • 1 container of dark chocolate frosting
    • 1/2 a stick of butter
    • 2 1/2 cups of ground cookies (aka cookie crumbs?)
    • 1/2 teaspoon of almond extract (or however much you want because I always put a bit more!)
    • 1 cup ground almonds or ground walnuts
      • Instructions : Put the frosting, butter, ground cookies, and almond extract together. Form the mixture into balls and set them in the fridge to harden for about a half hour. Place the ground almonds or ground walnuts into a bowl. Once the balls have hardened, take them out and roll them in the ground almonds/walnuts. At this point, you can put a Hershey kiss on top but if you don’t want to then it is time to eat them!
